A little birthday getaway to Istanbul ✈️❤️
From early morning flights to birthday cake at a local restaurant and our first walk through the Grand Bazaar. Day one in turkey was all about exploring, making memories and celebrating our boy turning 10. 🥳🥳🎂

Another country for the passport stamps…and I still can’t believe this boy is actually TEN now. 🥹🤍

He will always be my little boy, no matter how big he gets.

After almost three years of going back and forth between Germany and Greece because of our move, one thing that was high on his bucket list was finally travelling somewhere new again. And one of his big wishes? Istanbul. 🇹🇷✨

So, we packed our bags, got up early, and flew here today to celebrate his birthday in a place none of us has ever been to before.

We’ll be staying for a few days, exploring, seeing what adventures we find, and of course, taking you along with us. 🤍

Happy 10th birthday to my always little, but wild, bold, strong and the most ambitious boy. 🥹 Here’s to filling that bucket list together, one adventure at a time. 🌍

Let me show you my Greek 🇬🇷 χωριό - what life here looks like and what you might not expect to find in a small village in Crete. - wait for the horse 😂😅

Hi, we’re Vanessa, Leevi and Jay, and Skyla, our lovely Husky girl. For almost a year and a half, we’ve been living in Crete where Jay and I actually moved here independently, and met on the island. But from day one, we just knew. We fell in love, Jay and Leevi built an incredible bond, and things happened so quickly that we soon moved in together and started our new life as a multilingual family🇩🇪🇬🇧 in a small Greek 🇬🇷 village near Chania.

And because life wasn’t already full of new adventures, we also decided to renovate our roughly 15-year-old house, doing pretty much everything ourselves. It’s taking time, but we’re slowly turning it into the home we want, step by step.

Here in Greece, people say siga siga — slowly, slowly, everything in its own time. And even though I’m still learning to embrace that mindset, it’s one of the things we love about life here.🤍💫

If you’d like to follow our everyday life in Crete, explore the island with us, see how our house project is coming along and get a glimpse of what living here is really like, you’re very welcome to stay with us.💫🇬🇷

Open project no. 182737….. 🏠🫣😂

I’ve always dreamed of having my own home, just being able to do whatever I want with it and turn it into a place that feels exactly like us.

But what I didn’t really think about was that with an older house, there’s ALWAYS something that needs fixing. 😂 Especially here in Greece, where houses aren’t necessarily made for cold and rainy weather. Moisture gets in, old materials start showing their age, and suddenly you’re fixing one thing, repainting another, and discovering three more things that need attention. 🫠

Don’t get me wrong, I actually LOVE renovating our little Greek village home and making it more and more our own. But sometimes I swear you just want to finish one project without five new ones popping up. 😂🫣

So if you love home renovations, real-life DIY chaos and watching an old Greek village house slowly turn into our dream home, stick around. There’s definitely more to come! 🇬🇷🤍
