Going into a Greek 🇬🇷village supermarket means that you will leave it as an expert for tomatoes 🍅🍅😅😅

Our rules for going to a Greek taverna with kids 🇬🇷😂

1. Bring something fun. Ours is usually coloring or making up random games while we wait.
2. Make friends with the staff. They’ll probably be entertaining your child within minutes anyway. 😄
3. Let them roam a little. Around here, kids playing outside until midnight and that is pretty normal.
4. Order, relax, and don’t rush. Greek dinners take time.
5. A little raki helps… or two. 😉 The more relaxed we are, the smoother dinner usually goes.
6. Don’t worry if they’re a little loud. In Greece, most people don’t mind nearly as much as you’d think.

Of course, every child (and every dinner 😅) is different, but this is what works for us. Life just feels a little more relaxed here.

You can’t hear it in this video, but all around me there are stories.
🇬🇷🇩🇪🇬🇧🇧🇷🇳🇱

One of my favorite things about living in Greece has nothing to do with the beaches, the food, or even the weather.

It’s the people.

Or more specifically, all the people who somehow end up here.

A Greek family sitting next to an English couple. A German traveler chatting with someone from Australia. A conversation that starts with “Where are you from?” and somehow turns into life stories.

I could sit here for hours just listening.

Because every person carries a completely different story, yet somehow these places remind us how much we actually have in common.

It’s beautiful how a simple beach can become a meeting point for the world.

And yes… this is what happens when I sit quietly by the sea in Greece.🇬🇷🤍

People often think that because we live on a Greek island, our afternoons must look like that everyday.

Living in another country may come with a few extra layers that we’re both learning to navigate along the way. Growing up trilingual, finding structure in a very free lifestyle, testing boundaries, having the same conversation for the hundredth time, navigating big emotions, celebrating small wins, and sometimes ending the day completely exhausted. 😅

As much as I love the freedom and self-determined life we’ve created, it doesn’t mean our days are free from the normal ups and downs of family life. We still have disagreements, frustrating moments, lessons to learn, and days where one of us has a little less patience than we’d like.

But I guess that’s part of parenthood. 💫🫣

Endless grateful for babe, who gives his best every single day too. Being my rock when I need it, and providing the consistency, support, and stability that every growing boy needs in everyday life.

At the end of the day, we’re all learning through parenthood and growing because of it. A little reminder that no matter where we live, most of us are simply doing our best with what we have each day. 🤍💫

People always say how lucky we are to have such a long summer. But at the same time, the first thought is also: okay… that’s a LOT of weeks to fill.😅😅😅

But honestly? Our everyday life already feels pretty full. My work means we’re often out, meeting people, moving around — and I realised I didn’t want our summer to become another schedule to manage.💫💫

So instead, we’re slowing down a little.

Sleeping in when we can, meeting friends at the beach, him getting to know new people through my photoshoots, and doing things that somehow feel more like real life than entertainment.

Right now that means helping our neighbours while they’re away — feeding animals, watering the garden, checking on the turtles… basically his own little summer job.🥰🥰

Maybe it doesn’t look like the typical summer break.

But for us, it feels like quality time. Less entertaining, more living. And these are the summers we’ll remember one day ☀️☀️☀️
